Recovering From a Tooth Extraction

A tooth extraction is a common surgical procedure which usually proceeds quite smoothly. However, making a swift and full recovery is something that needs careful monitoring. Following extraction, the patient should NOT:

– Rinse the mouth for 48 hours

– Use drinking straws

– Partake in exercise

Teeth surrounding the extraction site should be brushed gently and carefully. Some pain and discomfort can be expected after an extraction but if the pain is extreme your dentist should be informed immediately as there may be complications that need attention.
